Job Description Job Summary: Works with the multidisciplinary team to identify individual and group needs and interventions. Utilizes the nursing process to meet the needs of patients requiring complex nursing care. Provides clinical supervision of MHW' s to ensure safe and therapeutic delivery of care.Assumes Charge Nurse responsibilities for a given shift (if scheduled as Charge).Utilizes the nursing process to assess, implement and evaluate patient/family care.Provides nursing care (including the administration of medication) to meet patients' needs.Demonstrates knowledge of specimen collection, storage and delivery criteria for toxicology testing.Participates in the development and maintenance of a safe and therapeutic milieu in assigned care area.Adheres to and implements organizational and departmental policies and procedures as they pertain to work area.Demonstrates the ability to intervene in crisis situations: · Assess the milieu, targets potential crisis situations and intervenes in a calm, supportive manner.· Utilizes appropriate degree of verbal intervention, which contributes to crisis resolution.· Demonstrates ability to physically intervene in crisis utilizing appropriate techniques.· May lead a show of support, directing others in their roles.· Appropriately documents the crisis situationPerforms Constant Observations, 1: 1' s, and other Safety checks or other forms of patient safety procedures as assigned.Participates in the development and implementation of the multidisciplinary plan of care for assigned patients.Shares information appropriately with member of the multidisciplinary team and other hospital department representatives through verbal reports and written documentation.Identifies the need for and participates in the delivery of education to patients and families.Participates in Performance Improvement activities within assigned area. Submission Requirements 2 years of Psych experience - RequiredAdolescent experience - RequiredAdditional submission requirements for all Brattleboro positions -VT License - If your traveler needs to obtain their license, please confirm they are willing and eligible to obtain.CPI - If your traveler does not have this in hand, please confirm they are willing to obtain and if they will need it onsite (24 hours of non-billable orientation)Please outline what patient populations your traveler has experience with.2 supervisory references from the last 2 years of employment are required at submission.Any scheduling requests must be presented in the submission file. About the Facility The Brattleboro Retreat' s Adolescent Inpatient Program offers crisis stabilization, specialized treatment, and aftercare planning for young people ages 12 to 18. Our Adolescent Inpatient Program employs a multi-disciplinary team approach that is short-term, strengths-based, and skills oriented. A typical stay lasts from 4 to 14 days. We recognize that effective treatment and a successful return to home and community life depends on close collaboration with key individuals in an adolescent' s life. We make that happen both during and after treatment by establishing ongoing communication with family members, and working to coordinate services with the providers in your community. Start Date: 10/28/2019

Shift: Days, Must be willing to float to other units as needed. Must be willing to take charge shift as scheduled. Travelers will be required to make up any missed shifts prior to the end of their contract.There may be 1 double shift per week (then 3 days off)

Shift Length: 8 Hours

Assignment Length: 13 weeks
