Job Description? The next Traveler Orientation dates are 09/30, 10/16, and 10/28 (compliance due 2 weeks after offer, no later than 1pm est)? Demonstrates the knowledge necessary to provide patient care by ensuring all instruments, equipment, and supplies are available for the procedure.Communicates with other members of the health care team regarding the patient' s condition during the Perioperative period.Demonstrates accurate labeling/ handling of patient specimen for proper entry to Pathology logbook.Utilizes the nursing process along with AORN standards to ensure all of the patient safety goals are incorporated into the care of the patient.Demonstrates knowledge of aseptic technique.Demonstrates safe and effective use of equipment used in the surgical settings and the ability to use the Autoclave for IUSS Immediate Use Steam Sterilization.Organizes OR rooms with equipment and furniture.Assists with room turnover and cleaning surgical equipment (i.e. stretchers, OR tables, video, tower, venodyne, bair huggers).Maintains par levels.Assists in maintaining inventory and participates with unit audits as assigned.Reviews preoperative notes and orders; assuring clearance and ordered lab results in the patient recordMaking pre-operative and post-operative phone calls as per protocolAlerts OR Charge Nurse and/or surgeon as to any issues with the patient’s pre-op resultsPrepares Recovery Room for next day’s casesAssures that narcotic count is accurate, co-signed by another RN and documented appropriately Submission Requirements 2+ years Preop/ AM Admit experience - RequiredProficiency with IV Starts - RequiredPrevious travel - RequiredSupervisory references from recent travel assignment - Required Certification Requirements BLS (AHA) State License Requirements New York About the Facility Glens Falls Hospital is a 410-bed not-for-profit community hospital located in charming Glens Falls, New York. Start Date: 10/16/2019

Shift: Days, 0530-1330 preferred, 0530-1530 if 8' s are a deal breaker || 40 hrs/week guaranteed w/8' s, 36 with 12' s

Shift Length: 8 Hours

Assignment Length: 13 weeks
